Sigma Kappa offers a home in your new college environment and a place to make your mark on the world. You will make a difference in ΣK and ΣK will make a difference in you.
Sigma Kappa has been providing a lifelong fraternal experience to young women from around the country since 1874. In 1922, Sigma Kappa became the first sorority on UofL’s campus, and has been a leading campus organization ever since. This past year alone, sisters of Sigma K won Fryberger Greek Sing for the 5th year in a row, Panhellenic Pride, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Sisterhood Award, Kappa Sigma Innovation of Distinction Award, and Sorority of Excellence, among others.
ΣK is a group of women working to enhance themselves intellectually and socially, while making a positive change on their surroundings. Each one of us is unique, but one thing we all have in common is that we are all enthusiastic about our passions, both within SK and elsewhere.
ΣK isn't just two letters you wear on your chest; it's about a group of girls who will always be there for you. To us, sisterhood means texting someone just to say hi and laughing so hard that you can barely breathe. It means practicing for hours under the leadership of one of your sisters and the pride that overwhelms you as Sigma K walks away with yet another trophy, helping a sister study for a difficult test and attending community service events around town.
In the end, Sigma Kappa is a place where you can be confident about yourself because your sisters are confident in you.
